OmniAir Certification Services, Inc., the independent test/certification affiliate of the membership group OmniAir Consortium, welcomed it’s fourth Director, Suzanne Murtha. Ms. Murtha represents the international test house and certification services company TUV Rheinland North America. Ms. Murtha brings critical experience to the Board that will be well utilized in 2012 as OCS develops and conducts its first connected vehicle certification programs in 2012.

On May 2nd OmniAir recieved a notice to proceed from USDOT/RITA/ITSJPO to start work on “Plans, Procedures, and Tools for Qualification and Certification Testing of Connected Vehicle “Here I Am” Devices.” Testing begins the middle of August in San Antonio.

Now that OCS is officially formed and populated by staff and a Board, it needs program, lab accreditation and test tool credentialing policies. The Board is well on the way toward completing these documents and preparing for customers interested in OCS Certification.
