OmniAir Collaborating with IEEE-SA and IEEE-ISTO on Certification Structure

The OmniAir Consortium is happy to announce a collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Standards Association (IEEE-SA) and the IEEE Industry Standards and Technology Organization (ISTO). The purpose of the engagement is the development of OmniAir's 5.9GHz DSRC device standards-compliance certification program structure, a key deliverable in OmniAir's USDOT Cooperative Agreement.

About IEEE:

The Mission of IEEE is to facilitate the life cycle of industry standards development through a staff committed to neutrality, quality, and member satisfaction.

About IEEE-ISTO:

The IEEE-ISTO offers industry groups (e.g., consortia, special interest groups, alliances, forums, working groups) an innovative and flexible operational forum and support for development and post-development standards and technology development activities.

OmniAir Relocating

As of the beginning of 2008, the OmniAir Consortium is operating from its new location in Falls Church City, Virginia, the heart of the association and contractor community in Northern Virginia. Since it's founding, OmniAir had been located with the International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association (IBTTA) at it's offices in northwest Washington, DC. This is because OmniAir was spun-off from IBTTA, which generously supported the organization in it's early days until it was self-sufficient. If you find yourself heading from Dulles Airport into DC, for instance, you are in the neighborhood, so please stop by and say hello.
