The OmniAir Certification Services Board of Directors was elected in the fall of 2011 and immediately began work on creating the key management documents needed to being accepting clients. The documents include the Program Management Manual. This spells out the overall policies and procedures of OCS and OCS Certification, including use of the certification mark, privacy policies, testing and dispute resolution, etc. The Lab Accrediation Manual contains the procedures that interested test labs must follow in order to become approved OCS Test Labs. The Test Tool Credentialing Manual describes the process by which OCS may take a test tool developed elsewhere and credential it so that it may be used at any OCS-accredited test lab. With the near approval of these documents, which the OCS envisions by the end of April 2011, the Board can basically begin to accept letters of interest from the connected vehicle community who have a device, system, or application that benefits from OCS standards-compliance and interoperability testing and certification services. OCS is the first test entity dedicated to advancing interoperability of connected vehicle technologies. It is a legally-independent affiliate of the OmniAir Consortium.
