Who We Are

Advancing Standards & Interoperability for a Better Transportation System

OmniAir is a non-profit technology-focused trade association created to help achieve the deployment of advanced transportation technologies and applications through the member-defined OmniAir Certification program.  OmniAir serves as a catalyst for intelligent transport systems (ITS) in general, but specifically the deployment of cooperative technologies such as DSRC, the communications protocol underpinning the safety and mobility goals of USDOT and Connected Vehicle.

Our Roles:

  • Offer a third-party, independent verification and certification of technology standards compliance to assure the procurement and integration community of a technology’s integrity, compatibility and functionality.
  • Advance open standards that enable device, system and environmental-level transportation system interoperability.
  • Support the market benefits of open standards such as what 5.9GHz DSRC and the EPSNIS provide: choice, competition and scalability.
  • Show open-standards-based technologies as a versatile, secure and multifaceted solution to the stubborn safety, mobility and efficiency issues our highways suffer from today due to the stove-piping of technologies, applications and protocols.
  • Champion research partnerships and industry involvement through testing and demonstration activities.
  • Hold up OmniAir members as viable ‘test-beds’ for innovative deployment approaches.
