Advancing Standards & Interoperability for a Better Transportation System
OmniAir is a non-profit technology-focused trade association created to help achieve the deployment of 5.9GHz DSRC systems through the member-defined OmniAir Certification program. OmniAir serves as a catalyst for intelligent transport systems (ITS) in general, but specifically the deployment of DSRC, the communications protocol underpinning the safety and mobility goals of USDOT and IntelliDriveSM.
Our Roles:
- Offer a third-party, independent verification and certification of DSRC standards compliance to assure the procurement and integration community of DSRC’s integrity.
- Advance open standards that enable device, system and environmental-level transportation system interoperability.
- Support the market benefits of open DSRC standards: choice, competition and scalability.
- Show DSRC as a versatile, secure and multifaceted solution to the stubborn safety, mobility and efficiency issues our highways suffer from today.
- Champion research partnerships and industry involvement through testing and demonstration activities.
- Hold up OmniAir members as viable ‘test-beds’ for innovative deployment approaches enabled by 5.9GHz DSRC and other open standards.
