Certification Committee

Most every profession, business, process, service, or device market employs some form of certification. This is due to the fact that certification is important and desirable to both the providers and users of products and services.  DSRC is no exception.
OmniAir DSRC Certification Committee Responsibilities:

  • Liaison to OmniAir Consortium Board and OmniAir Certification Services Inc.
  • Liaison to USDOT/IntelliDriveSM community;
  • Develop Test Tools, Program Management Documents and Structure.
  • Ensure technical rigor, consistency, and responsiveness to the needs of the DSRC community.
  • Ensure the integrity of DSRC technology and build confidence among developers, integrators and operators of DSRC systems.

5.9GHz DSRC Resources

The basis of the committee is the 5.9GHz DSRC Device Standards Compliance Certification Program which began development in 2006 through a cooperative agreement OmniAir entered into with the ITS Joint Program Office of USDOT.  Since then OmniAir has been completing the elements of the program by working with the VII/IntelliDriveSM community, to include automotive (auto OEMs , SAE and tier 1 suppliers); operators (AASHTO and IBTTA), standards groups (IEEE and ISO) and others.  Below are links to OmniAir’s work.
